Updated Level Layout


Hello there! Daniel Reber here!

The battle system is almost done and I will be working on that soon, but in the meantime it is time to work on the levels! Originally, our game was in one giant scene. This was primarily to just make sure everything is functioning correctly, but now it is time to update it!

The idea is to split the farm and the town into two levels, with a scene transition to connect the two. I went into Balsamiq and drew up some quick layout ideas and ran them by the team. The most challenging part was trying to figure out the placement of the land where you can grow crops and the player's home while also maintaining a northern exit that leads to town.  I was personally a fan of the third option and the team agreed as well!

After settling on the third design, I moved into Unity to set up the new scenes and start placing tiles. The result looks pretty good if I do say so myself! We still need to populate the farm with some props, but this is the first step to a full level!



The next step will be to get to work designing the town layout, but I will save that for another update!

You might be asking what that mushroom on the layout ideas are. Well that is a secret we are working on~ If you want to know, be sure to stay tuned for more updates!
