A downloadable Game Design Document

The is the Design Document page for my Team Fortress 2 Weapon Rebalance Design Document. This document is designed and formatted for someone that is not familiar with Team Fortress 2 and its long history of weapon rebalancing.

The document goes over in detail:

  • The patch history of each weapon and why those patches were implemented.
  • Positive and negative effects each of those patches had on the game.
  • The role each weapon currently has in the game and potential reworks of those roles.
  • Proposed changes to the stats of each weapon to better facilitate their roles.

Team Fortress 2 is a personal favorite of mine and is my single most played game. I thought it would be a good design experiment to analyze the underused weapons in the game and how one could adjust them so that they are used by more people, primarily by giving weapons specific niches and playstyles in comparison to the more used weapons in the game.

The document is not completed and I will add more in the future. If you would like to read more, feel free do download the document! Additions and revisions will be noted in the Devlog.
